Van Mahotsav, the annual tree planting festival, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at PM SHRI Government High School Morpirla on July 13, 2024. The program aimed to create awareness about the importance of trees and encourage students to actively participate in environmental conservation.
The guests for the celebration were RFO Sir Narayan Vaigankar, RF Ajay Gawade, RF Sunil Velip and other staff of Forest Department of South Goa Division Padi Pissonem . The students participated in songs, dance and skits.
Later RFO Sir Narayan spoke to the students where he shared insights on the current state of deforestation and its impact on the environment.
